NSW: P-plater charged under Skye's law on Central Coast: police.
A P-plater's been charged under new laws aimed at clamping down on drivers who evade
police chases.
Police say he refused to pull over after they spotted him performing a burnout on the
Pacific Highway at Long Jetty .. on the NSW Central Coast .. last night.
They say they chased the 27-year-old through several suburbs before his vehicle collided
with a gutter.
The man was breath-tested and returned a positive alcohol reading of 0.220.
He'll appear at Gosford Local Court today.
He's one of several people charged under the newly created Skye's law .. named after
toddler SKYE SASSINE .. who was killed during a police pursuit on New Year's Eve.
