SA: Icy ordeal ends for escapee
A man who spent an hour and a half in icy waters off Adelaide to escape police is suffering
from hypothermia.
Officers had stopped a car at the West Beach boat ramp .. west of the CBD and attempted
to arrest two men .. after discovering a large knife .. when one ran off and escaped by
plunging into the icy water.
The 45 year-old was found 90 minutes later following a short search.
He was taken to Flinders Medical Centre suffering hypothermia and is expected to be
charged when released later today.
His 37 year-old friend has already been charged.
